FAQ

Where is your office?

My office building is on the NW corner of 22nd and Main at the following address:

2243 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81031

What are your hours?

I offer sessions throughout the day during the week based on availability.

On weekends, I only see clients for backpacking therapy trips.

How long are sessions?
Typically, counseling sessions are 60 minutes. However, we might plan for longer sessions if we are hiking.
How do I set up an initial appointment?

Give me a call at (720) 383-4886. If I don’t answer, I will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours, Monday through Friday.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please reach out via email or phone for any cancellation or need to reschedule. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you’ll be charged the full session fee.
What age range do you work with?
I work with clients 16 and up.
Do you work with women? Men? Couples?

I typically work with people who identify as women.

However, please call me if you feel I’m a good fit for you… even if you don’t fit that description.

What do you actually do in session?

The first few sessions are focused on getting to know you and building a clear understanding of your troubles and goals.

After that, we begin processing your pain, either in the office or outside.

Once you fully understand your past, you can start loosening its grip and move toward creating the future you want.

Will I receive assignments to work on between sessions?
This depends on what you are working on. When appropriate, I invite clients to work on things at home before our next session.
Does your dog go to outdoor sessions?

I bring Mocha out whenever it benefits you, and it’s permitted on the premises.

Mocha is a certified therapy dog with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and a K-9 Good Citizen.

How do I sign up for a therapeutic backpacking trip?

First, just give me a call!

After you share your intention for a trip, I will curate a personalized curriculum that uniquely supports your goal.

What were your top three favorite bands growing up?
Hands down: Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, and The Cure
What is the highest elevation you have ever been to?
I summited Mount Huayna Potosi in Bolivia in 2015, reaching 19,974 feet (slightly frustrating that it isn’t 20,000). While this was indeed an accomplishment, it is a relatively straightforward mountain that’s great for beginners like me!
